16th St. Mall
If you're staying in downtown Denver, you're probably just a short walk away from shopping on the 16th St. mall. This pedestrian-friendly area is 16 blocks and exactly one mile long, and stretches from from Wynkoop and Union Station on the northwest to Broadway on the southeast. Nearly all of Downtown Denver's 5,300 hotel rooms are within two blocks of the 16th Street Mall. It features dozens of outdoor cafes and restaurants, as well as independent food vendors. Internationally renowned architect I.M. Pei designed the all. He also designed the Pyramide du Louvre in Paris and the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland.
You will find two information kiosks on the Mall. One is between Glenarm and Welton, in front of the Denver Pavilions. The other is between Arapahoe and Lawrence in front of the Tabor Center.
Tabor Center at Lawrence Street offers Cheesecake Factory, and the ESPN Zone. The two-block long retail center recently completed a $25 million renovation, and features a revamped interior and exterior, and new shops.
